John Bottings 1660s and 1680s - Fletching area

Hi All

This post is a follow up to a previous post regarding the Botting family which can be seen at the following link

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=826753.0

I'm wondering if anyone here can locate a christening or marriage for one of two men called John Botting.

My ancestor John Botting married Elizabeth Martin in Fletching in 1714. She was born in 1691 and I think he was born c1688 but I don't have a christening date.

This John was (I believe) the son of another John Botting and his wife Mary.

This John was probably born in the 1660s (I have c1665 but I am not sure) but that's all I know.

So far I have had no luck in finding these two John Bottings.

Can anyone here locate a John Botting born in the 1680s or maybe 1690s in Fletching?

Can anyone locate a marriage for a John Botting to a Mary in Fletching in the 1650s or 1660s?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Matt

Hi Matt, there is a baptism of a John Botting at Fletching to a John & Mary Botting on 18 Feb 1691/2 - don't know whether this is too late for you.  No others that I can see.

Hi Pheno

Thanks for that, that definitely looks like my John. Is there any sign of a marriage for his parents John and Mary? Or any sign of other children?

Hi Pheno

Their marriage does seem to be a bit of a mystery. Many thanks for the christening of Mary though, I didn't have her in my notes at all!
