Has anyone an interest in Catherine White  1788 .ca  unsure what area..assuming with the Irish naming tradition
That my eldest great aunt would be named after a grandmother.. . now to fill in the blanks

Forget the myth about Irish naming tradition. Sometimes, just sometimes the first daughter was named after mother's mother, etc. but this was not a hard and fast rule. You can only be sure when you have a complete family tree and check in retrospect.

You'll probably know that early records from this period are few and far between so location and religion are key to discovering what church records for marriages or baptisms might survive (and not all surviving records are available online).

Can you work back to narrow down the location? For example, where was grandmother from? when was she born? Is her eldest sister a Catherine? if so, when and where was she born?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Catherine Elizabeth White, born 25th November 1781, to Newport White and Harriet Davis. Married Benjamin Newport White, died 28th November 1862.

That one is Tipperary.
