Thanks for "Ingersoll" on the Declaration of Intention.
This is him returning in 1921 after visiting his parents

Matthew Adams b 6 February 1880, Glasserton, Wigtownshire, Scotland

emigrated to US after about 1915

SS __ of France, sailing 15 September 1921 [I think]

Declaration of Passenger to Canada

port of departure from Canada: Montreal, 8 July 1921
why did you leave Canada: visiting my parents
destination: returning home, Ingersoll? Ontario

edited to add:
ancestry says the ship's name was Empress of France

US Border Crossing
Matthew Adams, 42, born in Scotland
arriving Detroit 24 May 1924, occupation: section hand, Scottish, reads English,
last permanent residence: Ingersoll
nearest relative in Canada: Friend James Adams, Charles St E, Ingersoll, Ontario
final destination: Detroit

- so the street he was headed to in 1921 would be Charles, not Charlotte. I didn't look to see if there was a Charlotte St in Ingersoll or not.
