Oh Sandra Thank you that's him he was an iron founder on his marriage certificate and on the 1901 census.

He was born in what was a small village then about 10 miles south of Edinburgh and in 1901 census

he is living in Edinburgh . His father is Gideon McIntosh and Haggs Cottage was I'm sure in Newbattle or Dalkeith I can't remember from memory but I have seen it somewhere else in my research.

I haven't researched Joanna yet but I wonder if Margaret could be her sister married to George Leith

a few replies  back I noticed she had a daughter Catherine -- Margaret's mother was Catherine McLeod and they followed the Scottish naming pattern
