L Yetazia of Alaska Is this worth restoring?
« on: Saturday 23 May 20 21:50 BST (UK) »
Hi expert restorers

I found this photo of the great grandfather of a friend of mine in a 1904 newspaper.

Is there anyway to restore the image to get a bit more clarity? (He was indigenous if that helps as you assess the photo.)

The image is the best I could get clipping it from an online newspaper image. If it hasn't got enough detail to make it worthwhile, please let me know & don't waste your time.  ;)

Thanks in advance for your efforts. :)

In the event it helps with restoring his mustache, here is another photo taken within a few days of the first. L Yetazia is the man on the lowest level on the left. It too, is from a newspaper clipping so isn't great for detail.

Thank you Trishanne. Your work is awesome. You've brought some life to his eyes. :)

Is there any way you can remove the tie please ;D?

This man would have purchased himself a new 1904-shirt for the occasion (dark in the photo, but I'm perfectly good with white like it was in the 2nd photo), and it would have been buttoned to the top. He would never have worn a tie.

I'm thrilled with what you've achieved in the clean up & I know my friend will be too. Thank you again.  :-*

Just a tidy up
I think the jacket he was wearing was of a leaf and floral pattern. Typical late 1800 high breasted

That is just grand Dying out.  :-* I had no idea you could achieve so much from this old newspaper scan. Thank you.

If I may be so bold, is it possible to reduce the photo to the circle only, eliminating the other pictures that show around the edges?

Thanks again. :)
