I wonder if anyone can help.
Helena Molyneux born 22 July 1783 Garstang. (I have the same information for Helen Molyneux.)
baptised 23 Jul 1783    St Mary Woolton, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Parents Thomas Molyneux and Maria but I think this should really say Mary nee Appleton.
I have a baptism for Catharina Pope 19 Oct 1818 St Werburgh's Catholic Church, Chester, Cheshire, England
Parents Georgii Pope and Helena Molyneux Pope
Any help would be most welcome and I thank you in advance.

Have you seen the actual register entry that gives the date of birth as 22 July 1783, I can only see a transcript.  Surely they would not have travelled nearly 50 miles to have the child christened the day after it was born.

Maria is a latinised version of Mary.

Woolton is 2 miles from me - my mother in Law was Rhona Molyneux - her father Reginald Molyneux from Woolton - if you need research on the Molyneux family from Woolton let me know  - I have a lot of info   -
came over with William the Conqueror in 1066
came to Speke - next to Woolton and owned Speke Hall - quote - By 1170 the manor was under the control of the powerful Molyneux family. The Speke estate itself was owned in two halves by the Hazelwall and Erneys families ...

I am after possible conformation that Helena Molyneux born 1783 is the same as Helena Molyneux Pope, as it seems strange to have kept your maiden name.

My idle thought re Garston/Garstang might well be wrong garstonite. 

Without looking into it, if Helena kept the Molyneux name it may be because  she was from the landed gentry Molyneuxs. Also if she was from this family and born in Garstang, taking her baby to Woolton to be baptised in the family church is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Obviously further research is required to discover if this is the right Helena.

What was George Pope’s occupation?
Did George and Helena Pope have any more children and if so where were they baptised?
Was Helena noted as Helena Molyneux Pope on the other children’s baptisms?

The actual image is available on Ancestry. It does say, I think, my Latin being pretty nonexistent, that Thomas and Helena are living in Garstang. The sponsors are Richard Wainwright and Maria Appleton. I can only see one date  the birth date 22 July 1783. It really needs someone who can read Latin to look at it.
