I have an irish brickwall, and would love some help please?

Annie NIEL or WATERS, born in Wicklow, Ireland, married a cornishman John Andrewartha, i n Ireland, about 1836-1838, and all 7 children from 1838 to 1852 were born in Co wicklow, or that was their birthplace on the UK census when they returned to Cornwall, Some of the children emigrated to Australia, some stayed in the UK., would love  some directions on where to look next especially for a marriage or baptisms of the children.
Thanks
Trewartha

Hi

Any more information, such as John’s occupation, religion and a definite surname for Annie.

With a Cornish connection, I wonder was John a Miner - maybe working in The Avoca Mines in Wicklow?

Kind regards

John definitely was a miner, I am assuming he was  Weslyan, as most of the family were, some became missionaries in other countries, including Australia and America, with Anne, all we have is Neil/Waters, so we are assuming one was her maiden name, and the other was the name she married under.
His brother Francis and family emigrated to south australia in 1847.
In all the following census for the family that  can find their birthplace is stated as Co Wicklow, and they were all back in cornwall by 1858-1860.
I can give you the names and years of birth of the children if you need them.

John Andrews ? leasing from the Mining Co of Ireland 1831

The same name crops up at Brockagh, Derrylossary in Griffith's Valuation, which has a local print date of 1854.

I did notice a couple of cases of precedent online for Andrewartha to be a.k.a. Andrews.

Just for passing information and because it is all public domain, there was a Roy Andrewartha born 1938 in South Wales.
He worked in the coal mines there before moving to the Liverpool area. He became a professional snooker player -- very good but not brilliant. Retired in 1985.
