Burtons again!
« on: Sunday 24 May 20 14:38 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I am still looking for my Burton connection.I am trying to find out who John Burton's ( 1827 Alton Staffs died July 1910 Cheadle Staffs. Married Mary Butler in 1851.) Dad was. I think his Mum was an Ann as its on his Christening info. I just tried to order a wedding cert to find out but it won't let me as I only have possible months and year!

Has anyone got any tips? The wedding details on ancestry don't have the Banns or book with fathers name in.

Any tips for narrowing it down would be great.

Osprey,

That is great so that means his Mum if it is Ann was unmarried. The fact that it was down as Harrison would that be his Father then?
Interesting. Looking at my details I think Ann is his Mum the other John Burton Christened around then was in 1827 with a Samuel and Margaret as parents.

Thanks for your help.

Osprey,

I had seen that 1851 census I just thought he was lodging somewhere for work. There are four Burtons on there and Mary Butler next door to John who I think must be his future wife!
