It looks like a mistake on the 1870 census. She said Lizzie and he heard Bridget. Or the father in law or John Hardy, coal miner, provided the information.  The birth places are wrong also.

Or do you have a birth record for Bridget, born 28 April 1858 in Denny Stirlingshire?

Have you found Elizabeth on later records? I saw PA death records for a lot of the children but not Elizabeth.

Thankyou , Sandra and oldohiome,
I used the Baptisimal Register for  St Francis Xavier Falkirk Stirling, and found Bridget Woods born 15 April 1858 , Baptised 23 April 1858, No Elizabeth Woods mother Dunbar recorded.
The 1861 Census, Broad Street Falkirk Road Stirling,  in the home of father in law Michael Dunbar, Michael Woods and Mary, dau Bridget 3, Martha 1.
Therefore according to the 1880 Census, it looks like Bridget preferred to be called "Elizabeth",
So the search go's on.
Thank you both.

There's a record for Elizabeth born the same day here - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQZF-HVK  Maybe they bounced back and forth between the two names.

If this came from a civil record, then maybe that would explain it. Her civil legal name was Elizabeth but she was baptized Bridget.  maybe.

I thought an obituary might help find Elizabeth/Bridget, but Thomas Woods' obituary only confuses things. It says he was survived by six sisters but only mentions five, including two named Mary. It doesn't mention Elizabeth/Bridget or Margaret. If you can account for Margaret, then maybe the extra Mary in Thomas' obit is really Elizabeth/Bridget.

Thomas Woods, death
October 12, 1932
at 1006 Locust Street, Pittsburgh
single
informant: John Woods, 1006 Locust St
parents: Michael ___ and Mary Dunbar

His obituary, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, October 13, 1932, page 20

Thomas Woods, life long resident of Pittsburgh, died yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs M J Hooper, 1006 Locust street. He leaves six sisters, Mrs Martha E? Quinn, Mrs Mary G Flowers, Mrs Mary I Adelman, Mrs Frances G Graves and Mrs Stella C Woods, and two brothers Martin and John Woods of Pittsburgh. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery Saturday after solemn high requiem mass in Epiphany Church.

---------
Here are the other dates of death I found for the other children. I could see obituaries for most of these, and they only mentioned a spouse or a child.

Maybe someone can find a more informative obituary.

Martin Woods death
December 3, 1938
810 Highland Avenue, Coraopolis, Allegheny County, PA
wife: Margaret Ault Woods
parents: Michael Woods and Mary Dunbar
informant: Walter J Woods

his obit in the Sun Telegraph, Dec 4, 1938, that I could see, only mentioned his son Walter.

------------
Frances Woods Graves, d 1938, from the family headstone.
her obituaries, Pittsburgh Press December 29 to 31, 1938, only mention her husband and "from the home of her sister Mrs M J Hooper, Locust Street"

-------
Martha Woods Quinn, death
March 11, 1939
at 229 Delaware Avenue, Oakmont, Allegheny County
informant John Woods, same address

I didn't look at hers: Pittsburgh Press, March 13, 1939

----------
John J Woods, death
April 7, 1940
at 1006 Locust Street, Pittsburgh
informant Stella Hooper
I didn't find a reference to an obit for John.

-----------
Stella Hoooper, death
August 15, 1946, Pittsburgh
at 1006 Locust St, Pittsburgh
married
husband and informant: Michael J Hooper

her obituaries in the Press and in the Post Gazette, August 17 and 19, 1946 only mentions her husband and sister Mrs Louis Adelman

------------
Mary Irene Adelman, death
February 17, 1955
residence? Beulah Lane Rural, Penn
no informant, signed by a doctor

obituary Sun Telegraph, February 18, 1955, mentions her husband and daughter
