Prisoner of War Camp Stone/Sedrup WW2
« on: Monday 25 May 20 17:54 BST (UK) »
My Uncle, Friedrich Salewski  was apparently in Stone prison of war camp in 1944. I understand that he died of TB in 1944/5. I can find no local records and I think I will have to take a trip to the National Archives. I can find no death certificate either.

I read  that this camp was only for Italian prisoners but my uncle was a german person in the navy.

Has any one got any ideas?

I don't believe it was only Italians.  The local press reports it as 'The German prisoner of war camp, Hartwell' and there is a report of a military court hearing involving 'Eight German prisoners of war' in 1946.
