There will be a complete history of the changes of ownership of the land, including (eventually) maps of its extent, in the Registers of Sasines. To research this you either need to go in person to the National Records of Scotland in Edinburgh, or get someone to do so on your behalf. Unfortunately the NRS, like just about everything else, are currently closed.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

The complete history that Forfarian refers to is on the property search sheet, with a specific number within each county which is described so well in her posting - see the link above. Later dispositions or transfers may or may not have a map or plan though these were more common after the 1940s. Plans are only obligatory when the property is transferred to the Land Register [when the Sasine search sheet is no longer kept up to date] but as I understand it this transfer excludes properties whose ownership is transferred 'without consideration' ie no price paid eg for inheritances or trust transfers.
