Chipping Barnet burials
« on: Tuesday 26 May 20 19:04 BST (UK) »
Are these online? One source says they are on Findmypast but nothing comes up.
I am hoping to find the age at death (c80) of Elizabeth Thompson who died there in 1798 (her husband, Leonard, died there in 1764).

I've just looked at the list of Parishes for Hertfordshire Burials on FindMyPast. Barnet is included but not Chipping Barnet.

It's the same place. The records classified as Barnet on FindMyPast are actually for the parish of Chipping Barnet. The church, St John the Baptist, is now known as Barnet Church, which does sometimes cause confusion.

ADDED - Both burials are there, Elizabeth under Thomson (no p).

Thanks; a fairly basic error on my part (although the Name Variant button is clearly not 100% effective!).

The most embarrassing part, though, is that when I did find it, the previously viewed box had been ticked.
