T.S. had parents John Thomas Colliards & Ann Spencer.
So on the face of it T.S. is the father of at least one daughter by Louisa ?
It would follow that Eliza born a year earlier has the same mother unless as you say there was a name change.
Maybe T.S. & Louisa didn't marry hence bachelor on his marriage entry or as you say it's incorrect.

so I had another look and found this baptism

13 Sept 1823 Louisa, daughter of Thomas Colliard, Overseer of the Salt Golahs, and of Louisa, his wife. Baptised by the senior chaplain, Presidency of Fort William.

Perhaps baptised as Louisa after her mother but known as Eliza later?

Also, perhaps this Thomas is the father of Thomas Spencer, unless you could be overseer of salt golahs at the age of 22.
Hi Osprey,
Thanks for that information I did not  not know of Lousia his first wife.
Kind Regards,
George T Saviel.

well, it doesn't seem to be in the British India Office Ecclesiastical returns which are available via FindMyPast. It is in the Bombay Times.

Death notice for Thomas Spencer Colliard senior gives his death as 26 Oct 1840 at Sulkea - from the East India Register. He may have been married before Elizabeth Frances. There are some very young brides in the marriage registers at that time, but he married Elizabeth Frances in 1827 which would make any child of that marriage barely 12 at the time of the James Henry marriage.

James Henry Saviel died aged 69 12 Feb 1878 at Calcutta, noted as late of the Preventive Service - from the Times of India.

From the burial register General Episcopal Cemeteries, Circular Road, Park St, Calcutta
2 Feb 1898 Eliza Saviel 75 years 9 months widow of James Saviel, Gangrene (left leg). She was buried on the day she died. The burial service was performed by Carl L Olsen of the Old Church, not by the Catholic chaplain who performed a burial the next day. The age in years gives a date of birth in 1822.

You could try FIBIS for other records

and the collection of the British Library

Thanks for that Osprey.
kind regards,
George T Saviel.
