Thank you Sandra,  I think it is them, certainly the mother, and the others despite the mistakes look like them. I wonder if they are all in a grave together?
I did contact the historical society but no reply, probably due to the present situation.
Off to work now  thanks

On a hunch, I Googled "New Orleans  1858 disease". It might have been yellow fever:

I don't have access to jstor.org, but here is Google's snippet,
"During the violent epidemic of 1858, the editor of the New. Orleans Daily"

https://www.jstor.org/stable/4230697

----------
from  http://nutrias.org/facts/feverdeaths.htm
year: 1858
number of deaths: 4845

1853, 1854, 1855 were bad, but 1856, 1857 not so much. so 1858 was the first year they were there for a serious outbreak.

----------
background:
Yellow Fever in Louisiana

------
sad, I agree.

Here  is a list of the 1858 deaths in New Orleans with the Volume & Page number to use for the search. Also, there is an address you can write to.

1858 deaths: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/orleans/vitals/deaths/index/1858di.txt

============

Unfortunately they don't have the year 1858 listed for the Yellow fever deaths.

This was the old go to site for New Orleans genealogy before Ancestry & Family Search had much in the way of any records for New Orleans....the good old days
