OK, just by coincidence and conveniently the Marriage Certificate for John Riley and Margaret Heffaran has arrived in the Post this morning.
This states as follows:
19October 1861 at St. Mary's Chapel, Chorley,
John Riley, 23 years, Batchelor, Agricultural Labourer, of Bengal Street, Chorley, son of Thomas Riley, deceased, BLacksmith.
Margaret Heffaran, 22 years, spinster, Cotton Piecer, of Mill Court, Chorley, daughter of Martin Heffaran, deceased, Agricultural Labourer.
In presence of: Patrick Foy, and Julia Evans.
Both witnesses and Bride and Groom "made their mark".
I also already had a Transcription I had made from years ago of the Parish Register for St. Mary's Chorley, Marriages, this gives the following information.
19 October 1861
John Riley of Bengal Street, Chorley, son of Thomas Riley and
Margaret Hefferan of Chorley daughter of Martin Hefferan of Newport, Hibernia
Witnesses: Patrick Foy, Standish Street, Chorley,
Julia Hefferan, Mill Court, Chorley
So some slight variations in the two documents, I will check the PR again once the County Record Office reopens following Covid 19.
Also the Death Cert for Mary Everon gives the following details:
8 June 1886, 79 Water Street, Chorley. Mary Everon, Female, 79 years, widow of Martin Everon, An out of door labourer. Senility, Informed by Margaret Reilly, daughter, present at Death, 79 Water Street, Chorley.
Will work through the other info that you have both listed and comment on that in due course later today, hope this gets us off to a start.
Many thanks,
Degsy
