Seeking information on New York death on 19th December 1930
« on: Monday 01 June 20 23:00 BST (UK) »
Hoping someone can help me out with information on the death of Peter McCahera, from Monaghan, Ireland who died in an accident in New York on 19th December 1930. (There may also be alternative but similar spellings of his surname).  He was born in 1906, and I don't know what year he travelled to USA, but he was living in Bronx, New York. Perhaps because he died in an accident it may have been reported in a newspaper. He was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Queens. Your help is much appreciated, thank you.

Not sure if this is it, but maybe someone can look up this article:

The Standard Union
Brooklyn, NY
19 Dec 1930

Scaffold Crash Kills Four Workmen in Bronx Armory

It lists the men who died today, Peter McCarthy, 26,  being one.  That could be him, with a corruption of his surname.  Might warrant a closer look.

Gosh, your time is effort is much appreciated, this story came down the generations, with no real evidence to support it, until now. Thank you all.
