That is great. Thank you. I have just found a transcript of the marriage of Wilson Lennox to Matilda Johnson in St. Paul's Anglican church in Fort Erie. Simply says Wilson Lennox of Bertie, bachelor, and Matilda Johnson of Bertie, spinster were married by license. Since Wilson was on the 1851 Bertie census with his brother Edward and sister Sarah Rainey, I think we can safely assume it is the same Wilson Lennox even though he was not a bachelor. He was either a widower or ran away from home in Ireland, leaving wife Mary Ann Lennox behind.
Still looking for Edward's marriage abt 1859. It is not in the same church as Wilson's marriage.

Hi Peggy.

If you do a search on this site under Lennox, you will find more recent names that I could not mention on Rootschat because they are still alive.

I think I have gone as far as I can with this thread now.

Pity that there are unanswered questions on the Scotland side

I have made a discovery regarding Robert Lennox in Holytown.
I could not understand what happened to his child, Janet, who seemed to disappear after 1901 census.
After checking the census, I found that it was not a Janet, but a John.

He is with his parents on 1911 census, age 17.

He may have died in WW1

Kloumann, you have been an incredible help with this family on both sides of the water. Not so long ago, I knew virtually nothing about the children of Edward Lennox and Sarah Wilson.  Thank you very much. That was a great newspaper link by the way.

Just a quick question, Peggy.

Have you looked at the family that stayed in Ireland?

Wilson's sister Anne Jane died in 1847 in Gracefield, I believe she did not marry. Their parents joined the Moravian Church so records are not as readily available.
Wilson's brother Thomas Lennox married Jane Bell and Thomas died in 1905 in Ballymaguigan, as per irishgenealogy.
Wilson's sister Esther married George Pickering and died in 1880 in Annaghmore.
I haven't yet found info on Matilda Harriet or Maria.
Wilson's father Edward died Mar 16, 1857 in Ballymaguigan so would be absolutely fabulous if he had an obit.
There you are. All I know.
