Hi,

I am having trouble finding birth records for Neil LAGAN and his wife Catherine (I do not know her maiden surname).

Neil was born circa 1855 in Ireland but I do not know a specific county.
Catherine was born circa 1858 in Ireland, but I, again, do not know a specific county.

The couple later moved to Gateshead, Durham, England, where they had their children.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Working from the 1901 census, Free BMD and GRO I ndex, Neil  and Catherine had a daughter, Ada, born June q 1895, Gatehead district. Mother's maiden name shown as Hall.

The name seems to vary with Logan/Lagan in the various census or birth records.
However, here is the marriage from Free BMD

June quarter 1874 Gateshead Vol 10a Pg 1098
Neil Logan and Catherine Hall

This site will give you mother’s maiden name for births -
