Hunting for parents of Thomas Bowe

hi, I am trying to find out who are the parents of my ancestor Thomas Bowe born 16 Feb 1755 Keswick Cumberland. He was married twice 1m 1787 Betty Stockdale b1767 d1794, then 2m 1795 Jane Dixon  b 1763 d 1824. Any help in finding out who are the parents of Jane would be great too. Thanks Carol

Can you tell me where you obtained his birth date?  You have a very precise 16 Feb 1755.

There is a baptism for a Thomas Wilson Bowe on 8 Dec 1755 at Stockton on Tees.  Parents are Richard and Judith.

Added:  Sorry that should have said 1755 not 1855  ::)

Have you seen a image of the 1795 Marriage?
As Jane would have been 32 so possibly a Widow?

The only image that appears on FindMyPast is a printed page which states marriage was on 21 Feb 1795 between Thomas Bowe widower and Jane Dixon spr.  Witnesses are Henry J. Crosthwaite and Jos. Scott.

So Jane was a spinster when she married him.

When you are doing family history it is always good to make a note of where you found a record.  If you later want to go back to it you will know where to find it.  Also indicate whether the record was online and what website it was from or at a record office. The devil is in the detail, the more details you note of the record the easier it will be to find it later.

Although it may seem a bit tedious at the time, later on down the road of research you will probably be glad that you did so.  :D
