Course of the illness
« on: Tuesday 09 June 20 20:21 BST (UK) »
This has probably been discussed, but I couldn't see an obvious thread.
I am rather concerned about my daughter, who had the virus (undiagnosed) back in March as far as I remember, and recovered after a few bad days and a couple of weeks feeling wiped out. But in recent weeks, following exertion or stress, she is getting pains in the top of her chest and exhaustion again. Is this recurrence of symptoms a common experience?

The best course of action is to make a GP appointment asap, or phone the NHS on telephone number 111, or get along to the local hospital for a check up because there are so many variants of "after effects" and/or a second positive testing of the virus, as shown on this webpage, which was posted last March 2020

Best wishes, Rena

There are a lot of unknowns about it, TofH, and the medics are learning more and more  but new symptoms/after effects seem to be discovered as time goes on.

I think it would be wise to consult her GP or 111 or whoever one is supposed to contact at the moment.

Take care.

I do not know if it is part of having had  the virus, but to be on the safe side
I would at least phone the non emergency service, or your Drs ,you can get a telephone consultation, they can better decide how to proceed .
Best of luck with that, it could be her airways are compromised following the
Illness.May clear up on their own but that is for a Dr. to decide.
Do let us know how she goes on.
Thanks for posting it could be very useful for other people.
Viktoria.

Gadget you just beat me to it.V.

I have suggested the doctor, but she says there is no point, she just has to get through it. I will try again. And we are still learning about it.

There are so many weird symptoms around that it makes you wonder.  I had a cold in March, something that I am not generally prone to.  The odd thing was that, in addition to congestion, I had a persistent itching sensation deep inside my ears.  I've never felt that before but, since I had  no fever, I didn't take it seriously.  Then came weeks of strange random, localized pains in my limbs - from mid bicep to fingers and mid-thigh to feet.  These would come and go, first one spot then another, but no pain anywhere else.  That seems to be over now.  At least I hope so.

Anecdotally, I have heard of several people who have suffered relapses days and weeks after "recovering" from Covid-19.  It would definitely be worth a phone conversation with her GP, even if the result was a bit of a watching brief.

If not for her own sake, but for the general pool of knowledge, she should be seen by somebody. The more we know, the better we can fight.

Oooooh! I would not accept that!
At least the symptoms need listing as this illness has variations it seems.
