Nice for you to have a friendly chat Roobarb.... "QUOTE: She had rather strong ideas about the
government wanting to keep us distanced for their own reasons. Some other strong ideas too but it was good to meet someone who was friendly." I am dying to know her
theory about the 2m rule? Many people have a lot of angst about it, but no theory,
just anger, and always rubbish my theory, so I am very interested to know what someone else thinks please?? I don't even understand why it makes people angry.
Anyway, glad you also had some social activity Caroline and help from your neighbour too.
A terrible night, awake for hours, don't know why, and then woken again very early by some horrible yappy dog. Betting that is the same one woke me yesterday at 05:40 but different to the one barking on the beach at 04:30 the day before!! H and I do talk about setting up a sniper gun on the balcony, but I suppose that probably isn't legal
A bright sunny morning so walked to buy fresh bread and some bits for neighbour downstairs who was very happy that I did. She has a weakness and cravings for gravlax salmon and it really cheers her up to get some. Early enough to be very quiet in town and I didn't need to feel freaked out in Lidl.
Delivered that and then walked back to town to meet up with a couple of friends, sitting distanced near a kiosk. I did not buy coffee, just swigged from a water bottle I had taken with me. By this time intermittent cloud and rather windy. Difficult as a social occasion though, because one friend was widowed the same day as my SiL, and obviously fragile.....7 weeks 5 days but whose counting sort of thing.
Continued with making the linear family tree, and thankfully printed a couple off before the computer suddenly decided to change the margins and the whole thing went crazy and refused to revert. I hate computers.
After tea seriously cloudy, so the prom was fairly deserted, but did stop for a chat with someone we know. She told us the Devon rocks and stones people, (who started the display we saw yesterday at Oldway Mansion,) are now hoping to go for the Guinness world record, which is 8,000. I have a few pebbles in the flat and shall attempt a sunflower to add to the display.
The Arcadia cruise ship is in Tor Bay, currently sailing under a Bermuda flag. I wonder if it is a world tour and they have been on board for many months? A bit disappointing for the passengers in terms of stop offs!
Springwatch was delightful.
Hope you all have a reasonably pleasant day.
