Death of a renowned astrologer
« on: Monday 15 June 20 10:25 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I am more looking for a place to get a death record than the death itself. Ellen Conroy McCaffery, a widowed writer and astrologer, died in Florida on 21 February 1953 (born in England). She was on holiday, however, and actually lived in New York. How/Where might I go about obtaining a death certificate for her? (Am in New Zealand and have searched online but am a bit overwhelmed.) Thanks so much!

Regards,
Ruth

Hopefully there is something better than this, but..

The only trouble is

“Payment:  Check or money order payable to "Vital Statistics". DO NOT send cash. International payments must be by Cashier’s Check or Money Order in U.S. Dollars drawn upon a U.S. Bank. Florida Law imposes an additional service charge of $15.00 for dishonored checks. Fees are nonrefundable, except fees paid for additional copies when no record is found. These are refunded upon written request.“

This has been a real problem for me in the past. It costs $25 NZ to have a bank cheque made, and you cannot buy money orders here anymore. They went out with the ark I think.   ;D

I’ve managed with non government bodies (libraries)  to get on the phone and pay by creditcard. (Practice pronouncing digits in American lol)
I once tried online direct payment but the receivers didn’t understand what details they had to give me....

Hey, thanks so much. Looks like there's an Order Online with VitalChek which looks quite hopeful.
