A 'MISSING' BOARD

I think these  cross-board/unknown ones are usually placed in The Common Room.  If they later get identified with one county/area, the Mods tend to move them.

Join in and discuss more general genealogy and local history things here. If you can't think of what category, country or county your message should come under, then perhaps you could put your message here!

People post messages asking for help with tracing a family member and usually someone comes up with the answer.
With other queries no progress is made and those queries get lost.

If there was a MISSING BOARD then names followed by very brief details could be noted and anyone willing to have ago at finding the missing information could do so.
These missing people would not be abandoned.

There is no need for any extra boards as all subjects are covered for location and subject etc. If a query is not answered the poster can simply reply with an update and the topic comes to the top again.

In which case the originator of the thread can make a renewed request more help if they wish.

I there are "Scavenger Hunts" for everyone  to join in and help to find people....or just put it up with the "Brickwall" heading and the elusive relative's name.

But  please, please alphabetize the 'US Resources and Offers' board.  There is very helpful information in there but it's a hassle to find it.  It needs to be alphabetized by state so if you're looking for help with Delaware, you run just down the list of posts and all the Delaware resources are together.
