Family search- Cater
« on: Wednesday 17 June 20 12:26 BST (UK) »
Hi please can someone search on my 4th grand father. His name is James Cater born 1815 In Birmingham According to the Census. He died in 1898 in Cannock. I am looking to find his parents so I’m after his birth certificate. He was married in 1840 to Elizabeth Whitehouse. Any help would be lovely. Thank you 😊

James was buried at The parish church Norton Canes Staffordshire Image on Find my Past.

His wife Elizabeth also buried there in 1860.

James is consistently stated to be born in Birmingham. The above are burials.

James’ marriage to Elizabeth Whitehouse was on 1 March 1840 at St Matthew’s church Walsall. The image as far as I can see is not on Ancestry. You need to get the marriage certificate and that should give you James’ father.

Thank you that’s very helpful. I just can’t find the birth. Would be lovely to know if he is on your friends tree. 😊
