I'm using that exact address but it still takes me to the page with the BT Yahoo mail heading. I suppose that's because the primary account (which is what I'm signing into) hasn't yet been changed. I've been thinking about it and it looks like the only alternative is to sign into the secondary account separately. I forgot the password when they gave me access to both accounts on the same page. If I can't remember the password I'll just have to risk going through the reset steps and hope it doesn't muck up the primary account. I just don't understand why they tell me in the help instructions that I'll have to change the incoming and outgoing server details and all this stuff about POP3. Sorry, I'm ranting now. Thank you for all your help.  :)

BT have taken their email service back from Yahoo, this is the help page link they sent in their advice email to me: www.bt.com/emailchanges

Michael.

Added, if you are uneasy at clicking links you can type the address instead.

They stopped this half way through the migration and left some customers on the Yahoo administered platform.   Have they restarted this migration? I understood they'd abandoned it.

On their help page BT state all users will be transferred, ref reply 14.

My wife and I were migrated right at the very beginning (around 2014) but my daughter and son in law are still on Yahoo.   I'll warn them to expect this.

I was migrated last week, out of the blue & much to my surprise, but I was fed-up with the intrusive ads Yahoo kept inserting so mainly use Office Outlook.

I got the emails about the migration back when it was originally started (2014 sounds right) but then nothing until like Michael J I was migrated last week with absolutely no prior notification.

One of my old Talk21 addresses is still on the Yahoo system though.

We were migrated a few weeks ago. The email address was shared by OH and me, and used primarily for emails to and from a society we are both on committee of. OH had it set up to forward a copy of all messages to his personal non BT email address. It now seems impossible to set it up to autoforward any more - but I suppose that's progress.

Auto forwarding is still supported.

1) Open auto-forward settings (Settings* > Mail > Auto-forward)
2) Enable auto-forward and enter forwarding email address(es) in the destination box
3) Click Save

* The main Settings option is on the menu by your email address, top right.

I just don't understand why they tell me in the help instructions that I'll have to change the incoming and outgoing server details and all this stuff about POP3.

Anyone using a desktop application or phone app (ie not BT's website) to read and manage their emails may have the old SMTP settings stored in the application. As the SMTP server addresses have changed these people will need to change the settings or their application will no longer be able to send or receive emails.

BT's emails are generic and contain information that any of their users may need, so not all of it may apply to you. If you only use BT's website you won't need to change any settings.
