ROBERT DEATH born SHIMPLING

Robert Death born Shimpling 1539, died Feeringbury 1601 had children baptised at Stanningfield as follows: Thomas 1569, George 1576, Robert 1578, and Dorothy 1584.

Does anyone know or can find the name of his wife, when and where they married, and when she died (probably soon after 1584 ?).

Perhaps the daughter, Dorothy, was named after her ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have an ancestry sub there is a will for Robert on there hard to read but I am 90% sure its him

Thanks again, sandiep. Yes, I have a sub to Ancestry and have his Will, in which (page 1) he mentions his wife, Maria (possibly the same Mary nee Frost?). His first wife probably died sometime after 1584 and that is the one I am trying to find.

well am sorry I have searched all places i can think of but only marriage I can find is the Mary Frost one for this Robert..........I know how hard the name of Death is to search I have a number of Death Ancestors from Suffolk which is what made me look at this query but will keep him in mind when doing my searches  good luck do let us know if you find the wife.

Further to my request above, as Robert Death and his first wife were living at Stanningfield, could SKS with access to the parish records of Stanningfield search for the burial of his first wife from, say, 1583 to 1588. If nothing in Stanningfield parish records, perhaps search for the burial in Lawshall.

The Suffolk FHS index has no 16th-century burials of DEATH or variants at Lawshall after 1582 and only one in the 1580s at Stanningfield: Denis DEATH on 2 March 1585. (Possibly a woman we might call Denise?)
