Ordered a Death and Marriage Certificate at the same time  --  on-line from ONS just over a month ago - the Marriage Certificate arrived a week ago - no sign of death Certificate.
Is it usual to send certificates separately or might my order for the Death Cert. been overlooked?

If possible might be worth a telephone call but they might be on a skeleton staff

I've not ordered any certificates for some months but birth, death and marriage certificates were sent out separately.

I ordered a Birth PDF on the 4 th June. It says despatch date 11 th June it is now the 19th and still no PDF its only an email. So why a delivery time?.

It says Pleases Note- Delivery time should be added to despatch date to calculate when your order should reach you. So where is the delivery time written down to be able to calculate it.

It used to be 4 days for a PDF. Its now 8 days after the despatch date. if I don't get it today it will be at least Monday when I get it.

The last two I sent for took over a month.

There is a notice on the GRO page saying that "Due to Covid-19, certificate orders will not be completed within the published timescales " They also say that they will not be able to answer queries about delivery times and not to order unless urgent.

Certificates are sent separately, even before this I had birth certificates ordered the same day arrive several days apart.

I ordered a marriage certificate on the 8th of May, I knew it would take a while but I’m wondering if it’s got lost ?

The debit shows on my bank statement.

Don’t want to hassle them but need it to confirm a connection for a family tree I’m doing for a surprise birthday present.

Is this a normal amount of time at the moment .

Yes, from another group where I'm an admin, the waiting times does seem to be about a month to 6 weeks. Someone who phoned them was told there was nothing they could do about it as they are short staffed due to staff being furloughed or isolating. I think they are trying to get certificates that are needed urgently for any reason out first, which at this time is understandable. It also doesn't help that there are delays in the postal system as well. I think you can check on the status by going into your account can't you?

Thanks for your reply Groom.
I have just had a look at the site and realised I could do that so will do that next.
I didn't want to hassle them as I realise they are on a skeleton staff it was just that I didn't want to be sitting around if it had got lost.

*Update*
Have looked it up and it says it's in progress so I will just have to sit tight and be patient.
It's 6 weeks today so hopefully next week.
