Ridley. London Chelsea fulham road

Edith Louise Mary Ridley was my grandmother. She lived in Chelsea with husband Frank (Died ~1936 so I never knew him) who was a compositor working on the typesetting of books for Eyre & Spottiswood publishers. Their daughter Frances, my mother was the youngest sister. I knew of an Aunt Lilian but never met her, Isabel or their brother Fred. I did meet the eldest daughter Edith many times. I have a photo of my mother with Lilian when Lilian was May Queen of Chelsea.
The young man that I knew as Uncle Lionel was actually her illegitimate son who was was brought up as the son of Frank and Edith.
My great-grandfather Frederick Philips was a civil engineer and had something to do with the great Exhibition, in particular the fountain and he sometimes had to use diving gear to maintain it - hence the diver bit maybe.

My Grandmother - fathers side

Was Adelaide Elizabeth Coote born Spencer 1897 died 1960 was married to Albert William Coote born 1899 died 1961, they were married 19th Aug 1922 at St George Hanover Sq Church

I believe they had a son Arthur W Coote born 1923 died 1944 in 2nd World War - was RAF Flight Sergeant # 1295109

Lilian and Albert W (2nd marriage) married in 1948, Lilian died in 1997

I do have a picture somewhere, God knows where, of Lilian's grave stone and location

We have always been lead to belive they moved from London (walked apparently) to ipswich 32 shakespeare Road because Albert was having a affair and had other children in London.
Most of Albert and lilian children were born before marriage and most in London.
I don't know much about Albert only that he went blind drank alot of tea and smoked alot
