The Rangers Kings Royal Rifle Corps
« on: Sunday 21 June 20 12:16 BST (UK) »
Can any member help me with research into my Gt-Uncle who was called up into 1st Battalion The Rangers, a unit of the Kings Royal Rifles, in 1940. I'm trying to find out about where recruits reported to do their initial "square-bashing" training. I know there were depots in Winchester but also in other places around the country. Any info. much appreciated.

The Rangers were a Territorial Force Battalion and were 9th Battalion of the KRRC. Prior to 1937 they were part of the TF London Regiment.  You would need to get his service records to find out where he served.

Many thanks Alan O. I am currently waiting for the service records to be sent back to me.
