Have had another look at the 1871 and 1893 OS plans.  A lot of changes in the area between these dates, but the differences in detail as shown on the two scales make it difficult to be certain about the houses adjoining the Hall on each side.  Beyond saying that the houses in the photo were rebuilt (or extended) after 1893, I'd better leave it there.  Sorry!
