Hi Maggsie, this is how i was told it.
Bridget and Nicholas lived in Baldoyle....He is on the 1901 censuc along with patrick Terence and Jane Ann, my mother...Terence had a twin who died abot two days after [not sure] She was teresa.
When Nicholas died they were made to vacate the agricultural cottage...Were they ended up i don't know...Bridget was off the scene, and i presume the boys and mam were with an aunt, but that's conjecture....except an older lady told me Mam would have a little railway tag put on her lapel and would be put on a local train to go to the Inchicore Road where she would be taken to see her mam.
At some point the three kids were picked up by the Church and taken to an orphanage?...Apparently the boys were to old to keep in and had to be released....Whoever told them to go back and get their sister [my mam Jane Ann]...when they went and knocked, then asked...They were told she was dead and buried......Mam vanished from the family...But his year someone..I don't know who sent me the 1911 census of a industrial building in Tipperary ran by the Augustinians...She's on it with 165 other girls of similar ages..Only the eldest 2 were classed as teachers...They were the only two who could read and write in the Irish....After that, at some point My mam begged the Mother superior to be let go...by then she was 16...She ended up in service in Dublin City Centre....Pity to thnk her mother and brothers were just a few mile away n Coolock...
It was while she was in service in Terenure, she met my dad..They married and left for Liverpool that same day..never to return..My dad was in Collins Barracks in the Free State Army...
many ears later i found the family...by then Patrick and Terence were dead but Terence's son..my cousin took us all around the old places....I think he may have died too...The old lady who had all the pics etc..had move to England somewhere...so i don't even know what Bridget look's like..There are other bits and pieces i've left out...but at least...along with all your help, i'm rebuilding the family...although some of my family have sadly gone...but they'd be thrilled with what you have all done for me/us.
Thank you too Maggsie. I hope it's ok.
