Bruggy, Broggy, Brogie and other Derivations in Co. Clare.
« on: Monday 22 June 20 13:40 BST (UK) »
I am endeavouring to connect the many familes with the various derivations of the name.  Many went to the U.S.A. and some to Australia and England.

There are a couple of family descendants who still reside in Derrymore and Dublin.

I have also created a page on Facebook if anyone researching these names would like to join us they are welcome.

Can anyone advise me if there are any records dating before 1828 in the Parteen Meelick Parish.

I am trying to find records relating to a Daniel Bruggy who may have married a Mary Mara before 1809.

Also any record of a John? Bruggy born around 1743 and his wife Cathrine
Danaher born 1743.  Also any of their children.

Thanks Sinann,

I was looking for the marriage of Daniel Bruggy and Bridget Finucane as their children's baptisms appear in the Parteen Meelick Register and John Bruggy was the first child baptized in 1832.  I figured that Daniel and Bridget may have married maybe 1830, 1831 but wasn't able to find them.

I have traced a number of families back to births in the period 1794 to 1820 but it is hard to find records covering that period and finding parents.

Especially with Daniel Bruggy who may have married a Mary Mara before 1809.

Also a John? Bruggy born around 1743 and his wife Cathrine
Danaher born 1743.  [Catherine died in 1809 aged 66 yrs and buried at Moneen graveyard.]  Also any of their children.
