Steamed up glasses, when wearing a mask:

I was told by a steward at Burton Hospital last week - smear the inside of your lenses with washing-up liquid, then wipe clean.

I've only ever worn a mask once (that particular day), so can't vouch for the truth of his method.

Sunday 21
- bad chest cold - temperature - worried re covid19 - phoned 111 - at 11.30 - dr phoned back 11.45 - given another number to phone - car registration details and mobile phone number given - appointment made for 12.45 at local covid testing centre - arrived on time - centre run by soldiers - sign said to phone number on sign - it was to connect me with soldier adjacent to car - instructed to lower window a tad - testing kit passed to me - followed instructions - swabbed tonsils for ten seconds - gipped - same swab then up a nostril for 10 seconds - swab put in vial (is that the right word?)  - vial passed to soldier - made way home.

Monday 22 -
12.30 p.m. - text on phone - result negative - don't have virus - whole thing from start to finish took less than 24 hours - and on a Sunday.

Tuesday 23 - 9.30 - thinking about trimming privet - 12.30 - still thinking about trimming privet - 6.00p.m. - given up thinking about privet!

Good to hear you had a negative result Zetlander but poor you having a chest cold and temperature. It does sound like you're feeling better today if you were even thinking of trimming the privet. A bit of procrastination doesn't hurt.

Thank goodness the test was expedited  swiftly and was negative.

The privet will still be there tomorrow.

 You are all being so busy ,especially those making scrubs and masks.

Washer repair tomorrow,I hate this washer and half hope it is not reparable,as I have a contract which will replace it if not.

Glad you got your ink cartridge sorted in the end... it's difficult to know what time some of these places are open... if you look online it's not always correct...gave a little drive out though.

Glad to hear test was nrpehative and quite impressed with the speed of test and result... at least you can breath easy now!

I did gave a laugh at tge description of tge mask as a bikini top... but you're quite right they do look a bit like that... won't tell you what my OH said they looked like 😱..
If you use either short piece of pipe cleaner or florist wire (wrapped with electrical tape at the ends) and sew it with zigzag stitch on the inside of seam over the curved nose bit it can then be shaped and should help with not steaming up glasses... apparently..
Good to hear washing repair man coming just a pity you've got to clear out the cupboard first...

Definitely.
As one who has had to wear a mask every working day for 40 plus years the key is to get it tight over the bridge of your nose, and then place your glasses over. 
If it’s a particularly cold morning heat your glasses up.
