Stanely Lacey - cannot find his birth or early life.
« on: Tuesday 23 June 20 15:39 BST (UK) »
Stanley James Lacey. Father was Robert Lacey.

His marriage certificates suggest he was 21 at first marriage 1920 (so suggested birth year is 1899) to Ethel Eliza Eddington and that he remarried in Q4 1970 to Beatrice Digby.

Lived for many years at 112 Cambridge Rd Ilford. He's there in 1939 and 1963. Died 23/11/75.

I cannot find out:

1) his birth records
2) whether the war record for Stanley James Lacey Bedford Regt #51220 is actually for him?
3) where he lived 1901 and 1911 census.

Does anyone have more luck than me pls?

If you have found him on the 1939 as you say - you should have his full birthdate so when was he born?  His full birthdate will also be on his death reg if he died in 1975

The absence of a birth reg & 1901/1911 entries suggests the following possibilities

He was illegitimate - registered as another surname - mother later married Mr Lacey.  However, no Robert Lacey with a son Stanley b 1899/1900

He was not born in England or Wales.  Nothing on SP and nothing on the Irish 1901

4 children born to first marriage - youngest b 1934.  Are all now deceased

WW1 MRI record could be him - enlisted 1917 but no service record found so probably one of those destroyed
