Julia Ann Larkin Australia
« on: Wednesday 24 June 20 01:41 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out about my grandmother her name was Julia Anne Larkin born 1895 in Bowral nsw.  I wanted to find in Bowral where she was born but not able to do that.  On her birth certificate it has garden hill Bowral.  The only thing I can find is a place called garden hill resort berry I wanted to find out what it was before the resort and maybe the family lived there.  Her fathers name was thomas Joseph Larkin born 1863 I Berrima mother’s name Julia Ann Larkin née burrows born 1861 in it.

Possibly the name of a house or farm, rather than a location.

Cutaway Hill is in the Parish of Berrima, in the County of Camden.

Some of those historic parish maps can include the exact localities, particularly when you have the property owner's name.

If you are asking about the garden hill retreat that is in the Illaroo Parish, in the County of Camden,  then it cannot be the same place.

Have you researched the New South Wales freehold holdings for your LARKIN  ancestors?  There will be identifying details on that paoerwork that will match up to an exact location on a parish map.

1839 grant of land to Martin LARKIN. County  Camden. Near Dapto.

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/2549887

1840.  Possibly some difficulties in the actual transfer to Martin.

Other items refer to him being on land at Bong Bong, NSW.
