I’ve found all the baptism you list apart from Frances.

I did find a pair of twins christened at Lowther not far away but although the mother is Ann her surname is given as Wood which is a surname you get in the area but I would discount them unless you can see the actual entries.

Both Ann and John are buried just down the road from Eamont Bridge at Clifton church.
Ann 17 June 1838 and John 7 December 1845. There are probably other family members buried there as

Gibel...Thank you so much for this information.....

We did go to Clifton Church, but the stones had worn and we didn't know if we could ask inside...

This will push us on a good way...many thanks my friend.

In post 19

It should read that the parents of the children baptised at Lowther were John Wood and Ann Woof (Woof  is a local name )

Sorry about that.

Many people didn’t have gravestones as that would be too expensive for them.

How do you know John was born in 1767 in Warcop?

Have you seen the actual marriage entry for John and Ann?

Hi Gibel.....The information was taken from the pages in Birks Independent fo Westmoreland, which on enquiry showed John Mattison and Ann Wood Marriage, plus the baptism of both as being done there....I'm not sure where i said John was actually born there..I may have surmised he was because of being christened there.
With the name changing, or reverting back to Mallinson...I've been trying to find out what John's surname prior to his marriage and baptism was...That would solve that problem and let ud start looking further back...But knowing the correct surname would be a bonus.
John's father was John too.
Sorry for being late answering your query...i've been tied up with a family problem.
