Kingston hospital - time of birth records 1960s
« on: Wednesday 24 June 20 23:00 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if there are records that would tell me the time a person (*) was born, as it doesn't include that on birth certificates.

Janet,

Welcome to RootsChat with your first post. We have had to edit your post in line with our policy on not giving details of living people (even if it's ourselves we're talking about). So your question has been made more general so hopefully somebody can help you.

To my knowledge the only time a time is written on a birth certificate is when there are multiple births born on the same day, I am a twin but because our births spanned midnight we don't have a time recorded on our  certificates but we both know what time we were born, possibly hospital records or family members might know

I think that hospital maternity records are only kept for 25 years after the birth?
There is also a normal charge of £10 for digital records, and £50 for paper records.

Try contacting the hospital?

Louisa Maud is correct re multiple births - it's for inheritance purposes ;D
I'm a twin; have twin daughters; and have twin granddaughters.
All our birth certificates have times on them!
Those of other relatives don't have times.

Someone hadn't read the manual !  .... GRO instructions are that times should be shown on all multiple births "even though the children may be born on different days".
