Hi,

Did you mean the 1861 census, not 1871 ?
I can see his burial in Alveley on 26th March 1870 of William BOURNE, age 90 of Palmers Barn?

Gwynne

Thanks Trish, that looks very promising.

I've now found a baptism for Ann Maria with the correct parents' names. 1 Aug 1858 in Kingswinford.

Ancestry hints that she's unwed and working as a servant in Nottingham by 1881.

After that I can't be certain if she married or died...

The next mystery is who's child the grand child John Stephen Bourne is. Ages 1 in the 1860 census...

I've found a baptism for that name 6 Nov 1859 which if it is the right one names his parents as Stephen Bourne and Alice but I don't have a Stephen as a son of William and although I do have an Alice, I can't find anything to suggest she married someone called Stephen Bourne.

Hi dicko99

I am new to this website and have no idea how to message you privately and so posting on one of your posts is the only way I can think to communicate!

My 3 x great grandmother was Elizabeth Bourne from Kingswinford. She had an illegitimate daughter, Selina Hampton Bourne. I see you have been researching this family and so thought Id make contact with you as I too have been doing lots of digging about. My email is saralawton1234@hotmail.co.uk if you want to contact me regarding this.
