Liverpool Ford Cemetery Burial Areas

I have found maps and indices of the main burial areas in this cemetery, e.g. area SP, LW etc. Within these burial areas are the individual plot and their numbers. I have two queries -
1. Does anybody know what the letters re the burial areas mean?
2. I have a burial record for a GG grandmother who was buried on October 11th 1876. The plot number appears to be SP293 - copy hopefully attached. However, if this is the correct plot number there is now a gravestone there for Emily Gibney, buried in November 1876. Any thoughts on this?

I don't think the letters have any particular significance other than to make it easier to locate a grave.  I believe that large cemeteries are broken up into sections and each section is given a letter reference. Then within the letter reference are the grave numbers.

Emily Gibney appears to have been just over one year old when she died.  Could she have been related to your GG Grandmother at all?

Knowling: Devon, London
Southcott: Devon, China
Strong: Wiltshire
Watson: Cambridgeshire
White: Bristol
