John Howlet, Burrough Green
« on: Thursday 25 June 20 12:09 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I wonder if anyone has access to the Cambridgeshire FHS CD "Indices of Cambridgeshire Poor Law Papers, Master and Apprentices, Settlement and Bastardy Papers" and could help me?

John Howlet was baptised at Burrough Green on the 19th February 1775. He was the illegitimate son of Mary Howlet.

I'm trying to work out who his father was, and hoping that there may be some reference in the Bastardy Papers contained on the above CD.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Keith.

Hi

Unfortunately there are no entries for John or a Mary using that date and using Howlet/t. There is an entry in one of the Apprentice sections 1779 for a John Howlett, but doesn't look relevant.

Thanks Geoff. Thought as much. Can't be that lucky can I?
