Locations of Lily or Elias Marsh

Please can anyone help me find anything on the whereabouts of Lily or Elias Marsh between abt. 1936 and 1969.

I know that Elias was living at Bower Way Cippenham in 1939. I know that he had applied to Slough council for pp for a garage to be built from this address in 1938.
Elias died at Slough abt. 1960.
I remember a late uncle telling me that me that he thought that Elias wfe Lilly had a flat in or near Bolton Road Windsor .
If this is a fact, I think that it could have been from the late 1940s to the late 1960s.

I stumbled across a record recently that shows that my maternal grandfather’s brother, George Henry Kirtland, had a fruit and veg shop at 50, Bolton Road, Windsor in 1898.
 I am drawn to the idea that there may be a connection between my maternal and paternal grandparents.

Any leads on this matter much appreciated .

This doesn't give a link to Windsor, but the National Probate Calendar for 1960 show letters of administration were granted to Lily Marsh, widow of Elias MackIntosh Marsh. His address when he died was 17 Wellington Street, Slough, Bucks. You probably knew that already.
My first thought was to check electoral rolls, but couldn't see anything that was the right address. Perhaps others will have more luck.

Thanks for that Liza. I was thinking that there may be the equivalent of a council tax list of property owners. I know that Elias alias ‘Fred’ marsh (or his successors) had an office in Saint Leonard’s Road Windsor in 1950s and opened several betting shops in the area after the legalisation of off-course betting.

I am currently searching for a newspaper ref in connection with the inland revenue (perhaps)  in late 1940 or early 1950s. I made a note of it somewhere, but my filing skills are abysmal

I found something that showed that George Kirtland was living in Bolton Rd (50?)in 1898and working as a fruitier or. Grocer. By 1901 or 1911 he was in Church Lane or Terrace by the caste. I have learned that he was a keen gambler and may have had links with my maternal gf who was a bookie who is supposed to have walked to Windsor Slough area abt 1936. Perhaps G.H. Kirtland appeared on an Electoral Role?

There's a George H Kirtland at Church Lane on the 1939 register. He's listed at the same address (Church Lane) in the Berkshire electoral registers from 1920 on. The last one I can find for that name is in 1955. Looks like he died in 1956.
Just looking through the Berkshire electoral registers to see if I can spot Fred or Lily. There are lots of Marsh names. There is a Fred Marsh with the address Parkmount, London Road in the Wokingham electorate in 1950. Also a William Richard at the same address at the same time, if that is any help, but no Lily.
Do you have a middle name for Lily? That would narrow the field a bit.

I've found Fred in the phone book.
1950 Fred Marsh, Turf Accountant, 134A Peascod Street, Windsor.
1951 as above
1956 at 63 Goswell Road, Windsor
1957 at two addresses: 63 Goswell Road, Windsor and 30b Wellington st, Slough.
1958 same as 1957
1959 same as 1957
1961 Fredk. Marsh & Son Ltd, Turf Accountants, with two offices:
 30a Wellington Street, Slough
 62 Eastfield Road, Burnham
1962 same as 1961 plus a third:
 43 St Leonards Road, Windsor
The most recent listing appears to be in the 1969 phone book, now at 72 Eastfield Road, Burnham and 10 Mirador Cres, Slough.
However, where there was more than one address, sometimes they were listed as if they might be separate businesses with almost the same name: Fred Marsh & Co, Turf Accountants, and Fredk. Marsh & Son (Turf Accountants) Ltd. If it's important to know which was at which address, I can go back and look again.

I think that Fred Marsh was an alias of Liliy’s husband Elias.
I think that she died in Wokingham 1996 ?
I know that her son Ramsay was living at Whistley Close in a house owned by her in 1979.
Is it possible to give a number /  Street for the 1950 address where ‘Fred’ was living?

In the 1950 directory there is no entry for Elias or E Marsh, or Lily Marsh. There are two entries for Fred Marsh -- one is designated Turf Accountant, 134a Peascod Street, Windsor.
The other is Fred Marsh, Commn Agent [maybe commission agent?], at 17 Wellington Street, Slough.
Maybe one is his business, and the other is his home address. That must be it, because 17 Wellington Street is the address for Elias Marsh in his probate record.
He probably thought 'Fred' was a catchier name for a turf accountant.

Is there and occupation listed or any other notes for George K. In the 1939 Register and can anybody state any other occupants of the dwelling?

I seem to remember seeing various house numbers attributed to his residence in Church Lane.
