Hi ,
looking for information on my ancestors Donald Roy Black and Nora McMahon who were married Sept 1925 Stepney,London.
Donald was born in Glasgow in 1893.
They had 2 children that I know of.
Donald was in the merchant navy WW1.
he died in Glasgow in 1966.
any info on Donald ,Nora or their children would be awesome.

His parentage can be obtained by downloading a copy of his birth cert from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

The 1925 marriage cert will give details of Nora’s father but if she died in Scotland her death cert will give both parents names & mothers maiden name so of more use

Have you looked for them on the 1939 register if they were in England at that time - full birthdates will be shown

Donald Black died in Scotland 1965 - not 1966

Use freebmd to search for other children born to them - I make it 4

Please remove both children's names from your post as one was only born 1935 so may still be alive

Donald is fairly easy to find on 1939 (exclude "Roy" from the search) - he's actually down twice,  once a home and once in another place. Nora is with him in one place, but mistranscribed by Ancestry.

Nora and Donald found together on the electoral register in Stepney area up to 1949. 1950 just Nora there - 1951 just  Donald. He appears to be in the area for a year or two more, looking like he's living in a hostel or potentially seaman's club? (or even a hospital, as there's one on that street)

Were his folks, Patrick and Mary?

Hi Jamjar,
I have the births of the 4 children but not them with there folks in 1939.
I don,t have the info on the sons death aged 10 .
Donalds parents were Catherine Donald and John Black.
i think the names Mary and Patrick maybe Nora,s parents name.
Donald Roy Black was in the merchant navy and i think he suffered shell shock as they use to call it then.
Now we would probably call it PDSD.
He spent the last years of his life in  Gartloch Assylum, Lanarkshire,Scotland were he died.
He is buried in the same plot as his sister Catherine my great gran,
