Thank you for your help I know Ann Jones was born in West Kirby to William Jones and Sarah Middleton.  When her Sister Ellen Jones married  1839 at St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England to a John Housley her witness where Ann Unsworth and Richard Unsworth but on the will of the farther William Jones it said Ann Houldsworth.

Why did you not provide this information in your original post?

Members would have then not wasted their time on a wild goose chase.

So in the Will of William Jones its says Ann Houldsworth is his Daug?

I think you can rule out the Ann Holdsworth who died 1870 as your Ann Jones

Trish :)

You are assuming then that Ann Unsworth that witnessed Ellens marriage is her sister.  She has signed the register herself and her signature is clearly Unsworth.

Does the will mention anyone else.  Where and when did he die

William Jones was a fisherman on the marriage of his daughter Ellen but by the time he died he was described as a Yeoman.

this transcription from the will may help

"William Jones of Great Meols in the parish of West Kirby in the county of Cheshire.........wife Mary...........children John Jones, Esther (Rowles?/Power?) Ann Houldsworth and Ellen Ousley..... owned two cottage or houses near the pub named 'The Cheshire Cheese' in Wallasey"

edit: Ellen could be Povall according to a tree on ancestry and she had 16 children!
