forgot to ask if you had tried to trace the Thomas Hughes head of household where she is enumerated as niece.

Possible in 1851 also as a butcher
Argoed, HO107/2501 folio 523 pg 31
Thomas Hughes head mar 47 butcher master
Mary wife 49
Henry son 17
Thomas son 13
William son 11
Elizabeth dau 11
all born Mold
but no daughter Charlotte as there is in 1861.

Thomas & Mary are evidently not living together as Thomas is in court for not maintaining his wife.

Thanks Osprey for all that info,I always thought his wife was Mary as it says that on all the cencus going back to 1841.As you are very good at finding things can you help me to trace a double wedding that took place in Rhyl April 9th 1917 (don't even ask me the dynamics of the families involved)
Thanks
I

9 April 1917 would have been a Monday.

Using the advanced search here for the specific month, haven't spotted anything likely.

https://newspapers.library.wales/

I've checked the parish registers
Holy Trinity, Rhyl nothing between 14 Feb & 20 Aug

St Thomas comes up trumps
9 April 1917
Henry Hughes 50 widower grocer 22 Gronant St father William Hughes (deceased) cattle dealer
Alice Holmes 56 widow 17 Elwy St father William Leigh (deceased) engineer
witnesses Joseph Richard Barnett  & Emma Arnold

Robert Leonard Holmes 24 bach railway porter 17 Elwy St father Augustus Holmes (deceased) cabinet maker
Charlotte Gwendoline Hughes 20 spinster 22 Gronant St father Henry Hughes grocer
witnesses William Hunter Hall & Veronica Hall.
