Weiner/Frydman - Wloclawek, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Poland
« on: Sunday 28 June 20 22:24 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find the birth of Gustawa Weiner born 1904 in Wloclawek, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Poland.  Her father's name was Salomon Weiner.

Gustawa perished in a concentration camp during WW2 under her married name of Frydman.  It is known that she lived in Liverpool prior to the war and I have those details.   Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Do you have her mother's name and siblings.?

Do you have her on 1911 census
Do you know when she came to UK and why ?

If she went to school here you may find records with date of birth

Where do you get the year + place of birth from ?

Good luck in your search

Thank you for your response.

I have no idea when she came to Liverpool with her husband Emanuel and haven't, as yet, been able to find anything re their travel.  They had a son whilst there in Liverpool in 1938 but Gustawa had returned to Poland by 1939 as Emanuel was on his own.  It is said that she returned to visit her sick parents and took the child with her.  When war broke out, Emanuel went out to find her but only found his child who had been hidden by friends.

The son is still alive and has been unhappy at thinking about the past until just recently - he is now in his 80's and all he can remember is the name of his grandfather and where they lived.

I will persevere.  Thank you again.  Royd.

There are so many different spellings it's hard to look up .
The Frydman spelling does seem to be specific to Poland .

Are you on  Ancestry ? There is one private tree on there with Emmanuel.

I saw some holocaust records  but first name spelt different  I don't think it's your Gustawa .could she have been registered under maiden name ?

Her son may be willing to take a DNA test which could throw up other Weiner descendants  .
If he is lucky may find descendants of Gustawa s siblings or aunt's and uncles  who have photos .

My mother did this in her 80s and we found USA relatives .

Hi

The private tree is mine.  It seems as though Gustawa was also Gustava - a variation in spellings at times.  Emanuel came to Britain in 1936 on a work permit.  He was a telecommunications engineer with ATE and had several patents with them.

Thank you for your reply - I will continue my search.  Royd.

Do you mean her date of birth or an original birth record?

The first place to look for information on any victim of the Holocaust is the Yad Vashem database.

Her son Michael submitted a page of testimony in 2017. It can be viewed here
https://yvng.yadvashem.org/index.html?language=en&s_lastName=frydman&s_firstName=gustawa&s_place=&s_dateOfBirth=&cluster=true

Scroll down to the last but one on the list. She was born on 30 Apr 1904.

Her maiden name was WIEner (derived from Wien = Vienna), not WEIner.
