Hi Jessies mumYou are lucky to have those dates for the marriage and birth of Ellen. Are there any other traditions or oral tales around? did they come from a family bible ? Do you know when she arrived in Australia? I tried unsuccessfully for marriage
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/search-australia-and-new-zealand-records-in-birth-marriage-without success
I tried
https://www.ancestryireland.com/family-records/birth-and-baptism-records-county-antrim-and-county-down/?search and knowing its strength is Co Antrim and Co Down was surprised to find
ELLEN MCCOMB birth /baptism 1839 father MATTHEW in Co Armagh who might be a relative you would need to buy credits for details keep for later as these details conflict with yours meaning there are or could be at least two Ellen McComb which makes one wary of assumptions.
I moved to the 1863 Griffiths Valuation for Ireland index for an Ellen McComb an unusual woman of the time who is not a widow but has a homestead.. The homestead is not listed inside Tandragree town within Ballymore civil parish but just outside in the remaining area of Ballymore townland inside the civil parish of Ballymore. An excellent website that takes time and patience to use is
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml? using its index to her, then looking up detail its dated 1863
her house Map ref No 46b appears to be the middle of three houses. It can be made out on the map as follows:- The Portadown road [now the A27] runs from the north and intersects wth the Armagh Road running from the west just north of the Tandragree town boundary [the area north of the Armagh road is outside the tandragee town boundary. there is a group of 3 houses on the west side of the Portadown road as it runs into the intersection . Her house No 46b appears to be visible the 2nd house from the junction on so about 20 metres from the intersection. On a current satellite view its marked No 2 Portadown Road Tandragee and is a small white pebbledash house it could be the original or rebuilt. the $6a most northern of the three appears to have vanished. There is also a street view alterable taken in recent times. Further information in Griffiths shows Ellen McComb has a house valued at £1 15shillings pa which should be traceable after 1863 when she moves see PRONI website then find valuation continuation books The entry is in PRONI Reference: VAL/12/B/11/5A (1863 - 1874) page n 67 or digital page 71 of 123 findable in
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/searching-valuation-revision-books Yes changed in 1867 cant read the new occupier [did wonder could she have married and he moved into her house before they emigrated. so large magnification needed}and then further changed in1872 to William Kennedy, so look for emigration record 1867 onwards see below.
My thoughts are she must have inherited the house before 1863 when it was printed she would have been 17 years old , was that possible? what age must an occupier be?
Her Landlord was the Duke of Manchester. Check does his estate papers exist before1863?
Her being occupier also suggests her parents died before 1863 Did she have a brother Joseph
her emigration I tried
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/search-united-kingdom-records-in-travel-and-migration for Ellen M and E. McComb and McCombe without success , have you got her arriving?
