single mystery word on legal document 1833
« on: Monday 29 June 20 11:26 BST (UK) »
I make this "Free Pardon ??? 16 March 1833" I know from other documents that this was the date the pardon was granted, but the word doesn't look like 'granted' or any other synonym that I can think of.

Many thanks

Could be prepd - for 'prepared'.

Are there any other examples of Free Pardons in the same source, for comparison?

It may say, "Free Pardon prop[ose]d", although the "o" is rather hard to see as an "o".

Free pardon prepared is standard wording. 700+ results from a search of TNA Discovery ...

Thank you all. 'Prepared' seems to be the best bet.
