Charles Smith 1872 Glasgow Scotland
« on: Friday 03 July 20 02:42 BST (UK) »
Hi we are researching our ancestor's life, family and background in Scotland.
His name is Charles Smith born about 1872 Glasgow Scotland. What we know is he had a sister Cacy, Cassy or sounds like that. He might be an orphan (don't know in Scotland or Australia). He came to Australia later and married Gertrude Livingstone in Tasmania 1904. He had a son the same name and other 3 daughters. He passed away in 1950 in Tasmania.
In addition, his ground daughter (who is our mother, Barbara 78) has 40% and my husband has 34% of Norwegian blood by DNA test. Which means the Charles and/or his wife Gertrude were Norwegian background. (as their pester side has only Scottish/Irish/Wales background)
If someone can find any clues, about Charles Smith's info, please let us know. Thanks.

Hi Mckha489
Thank you for your reply.
I am glad that you send us the Charles's marriage certificate.
This is the only marriage he had.
He had a daughters called, Cacy, Doris and Gladys.
There are so many people called Charles and Gertrude at the time and very confusing but the certificate gave us many clues.
Thanks
Ikuko
