Rootschat problem with Firefox
« on: Saturday 04 July 20 05:21 BST (UK) »
Hello,

This morning I had no problems using Rootschat with Firefox.  That is, until this afternoon when I turned the laptop on, and a Firefox page popped up saying I was up to date.  Clicked on Rootschat links in my emails and up popped this message.

Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to www.rootschat.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Google Chrome I can get straight in, which I am using now obviously,  I tried on my nearly dying old laptop, and had no problem.  Seems to me that something went haywire after shutting down and starting up again.

I am using Windows 10 HP which is nearly a couple of months old, the old one is the same make.

I don't want to fiddle around, when I don't know what I am looking at ;D :D

Should mention that I have no trouble with Firefox using other websites, only this one.

Cheers

I use Firefox (78.0.1 (64-bit)) and have not encountered this is your browser up to date?
Have a look at Help, about Firefox to find what version you are using.

I remember now, reading about it at the time, but this old brain didn't compute ;D :D

I've updated Firefox on the old lappy, and working fine on that one.

Where do I find the TLS option please.

All sorted! :D

Forgot I had the same problem in March  :-[  Saw I had replied to one of the links ... feeling a tad embarrassed and I should have done a search before I started a new topic, but more the wiser now! :D

Thanks everyone :)

I had the identical problem plus it was accompanied by a bsod.  Turned the computer off and attempted to download the Firefox update.  Same problem occurred.  In the end I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and this resolved the problem.  I have yet to see anything from Firefox regarding this.
