I am having the same experience, ordered marriage, birth and death certificates on 29 June, so far only marriage and 1 death certificate (out of 5 ordered) delivered, obviously different departments, but I have noticed that previously when ordering certificates, marriage ones are delivered first. Time will tell when we receive our orders!

Hurray my certificate has arrived  :D

This is just for info for, NOT a criticism of the GRO, just to give those still waiting a time check.

Most of my research has been in Scotland so not used the GRO much, I was anxious I had not completed the request correctly.

I ordered a 1930s marriage certificate on the 14th May and it came today 18th July, 9 weeks.

Hang on in there if you are still waiting, they are doing their best.

I ordered a PDF death cert (1875) on 7th July and it arrived on 16th July so perhaps things are slowly getting back to the usual level of service.

I have had a similar experience. I ordered two death certificates and one marriage. The marriage certificate arrived about one week after I ordered the three certificates on 20 June. The death certificates have not arrived, but, as previously mentioned, there will be different departments.....
I guess the department that manages deaths is much more busy!!

Is there a difference in time between PDF birth and death certs and the paper ones?
OH has only ordered PDF death ones since lockdown. First two ordered just as lockdown started took around a week. Four received on 7th July took about two weeks. Have ordered another batch on 7th July, not arrived yet, but wouldn't have expected them until middle of next week at the earliest.

The first two may have already been scanned for another customer. An online tree by a distant cousin has death details for the individuals so I expect she sent for the same certificates some time ago. The four we received on the 7th were much more specific for OH's branch of his tree. With the paucity of descendants on that line, only two other people would be likely to have an interest in the same certificates.
Does anyone know if a specific cert has been previously scanned for a customer, other customers ordering the same one would get their pdf quicker?
